Building Strong Communities

Your relationship with Needham Bank allows us to lend a helping hand in our communities. Our customers share our belief of giving back to others and that’s why they form a relationship with a community-focused institution like ours. Your support has helped us build strong communities for over 125 years.

We see it as our responsibility and privilege as a community bank to lend support through contributions to hundreds of non-profit organizations, financial education, and volunteerism. Our employees are not only committed to this mission during business hours, but they subscribe to the notion of helping others in their own time as well. In 2019, Needham Bank employees volunteered over 3,200 hours with our partner organizations and in the communities they call home.

Thank you for helping Needham Bank make a difference in the lives of our customers, local organizations, and community members.

Building Strong Communities

Educating Our Communities

Through in-person presentations, virtual webinars, and written content, we offer financial education on a multitude of topics important to our customers.

We find fraud prevention is the most asked about and prevalent topic because anyone can fall victim to fraud regardless of age, gender, race, or status. Knowing that, we’ve implemented an multi-prong approach to educating our customers on the topic.

On our website, you’ll find a self-service approach to fraud prevention education through our knowledge center. There you will find up-to-the minute fraud alerts and cybersecurity resources. As a customer, you can always reach out to our branches for tips and assistance, as well as our online banking team.

In the community, our employees have developed ways to help through workshops and presentations. We currently work with local senior centers to present and guide seniors on how to protect themselves from elder fraud. In partnership with the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, we’ve customized fraud and cybersecurity presentations to educate our business customers and chamber members.

Building Strong Communities

Contributing to the Community

Each year Needham Bank commits to donating over 5% of earnings back to local non-profit organizations serving the MetroWest and Greater Boston communities. Along with our financial support, we strive to create meaningful partnerships with the organizations we support. This means our employees are out there volunteering their time, making their voices heard on committees and boards, and attending events to help bring support and awareness to the important causes that mean so much to us.

As our footprint grows, our giving priorities remain local. We prioritize giving to non-profits within our branch communities and, in particular, to organizations working in the area of health and human services, social justice, education, affordable housing and community development.
