Needham Bank Signs on as Lead Sponsor of Hale’s Race Series

WESTWOOD, MA---Hale has announced dates for their 13th Annual Race Series, which historically attracts athletes from all around New England for a worthy cause: each year, proceeds from these races make it possible for financially disadvantaged children to attend summer camp. Over 2,200 kids per year receive financial aid to help them to participate in an enriching experience at Hale that will give them positive memories to last a lifetime.

For the fifth consecutive year, Needham Bank has committed to being the lead sponsor of the series.

“Needham Bank’s support has been instrumental to our success. With a steady increase in the number of hours children spend locked in with a screen, we are doing everything we can to get kids outside in and in touch with nature. Our camp programs give children that chance and Needham Bank generously leads the way with their support of our race series,” said Hale’s Executive Director, Eric Arnold.

The Race Series will begin on Sunday, June 12 with the ever-popular Obstacle Challenge. Participants will face off in Hale’s beautiful woodlands to complete physical challenges such as Canoe Hurdle, Log Carry, and the always exciting Dodgeball Alley.

The Obstacle Challenge is followed by the annual 5K race to benefit Julia’s Place on Thursday, July 14. Finally, a new partnership with Sun Multisport Events has resulted in Hale’s Endurafest Weekend, beginning on Saturday, September 10 with trail races of various distances for runners of all ages and abilities. Sunday of the Endurafest will feature a variety of adult multisport races including a triathlon (with an option to either swim or paddle the “water leg”), duathlon (run-bike-run) and “quadrathlon” (swim-bike-paddle-run,) plus youth-focused triathlons with Junior (age 6-9) and Senior (age 10-15) divisions.
