Zullo festival event space with balloonsMEDFIELD, MA---With Needham Bank back as presenting sponsor, food donations from dozens of establishments in and around Medfield, original artwork for sale, and now Doug Olsen’s East Coast Salsa Band playing Latin jazz, downtown Medfield will be a lively spot for the 7th Annual Zullo Art Festival and Party under the Big Tent from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 – and for the first time, with a 10-ticket discount offered.

The event, to be held on the common adjacent to the Zullo Gallery building and the Medfield Public Library, is a fundraiser for the local non-profit gallery and center for the arts to support its ongoing initiatives, including rotating exhibits, art classes and live music.

“Thanks to an array of support over the past 28 years, the Zullo Gallery has become a strong and vibrant cultural hub in downtown Medfield,” said Bill Pope, executive director and founder of the Zullo. “Needham Bank has been an especially dedicated supporter throughout the gallery’s history. In addition to sponsoring the festival for the third year in a row, it provided substantial funding for the construction of our outdoor deck – a spot that is enjoyed by hundreds of visitors each year.”

“We absolutely love the Zullo Gallery and the fine contributions it makes to the vitality of the Medfield community,” offered Needham Bank CEO Mark Whalen. “Bill Pope, who is a true visionary, does an incredible job. We’re proud to have supported the gallery for years, and to do so again this year. We look forward to seeing everyone under the big tent on the 18th.”

The festival will feature an array of food and drink, including Italian specialties from Basil’s, an oyster bar from Zebra’s, beer from Sam Adams, and pulled chicken from Rock ‘N Roll Rib Joint. The art sale will feature small paintings created by artists who have exhibited at the Zullo over the years. An auction will also be held.

Event tickets are normally $75 each, but between now and June 2 (to coincide with Zullo 1st Thursday), the gallery is offering tickets for $60 each when 10 tickets are purchased together. After June 2, tickets will go back to the normal $75 per-person price. Each ticket includes beer, wine and food.

Festival tickets are on sale now at the Medfield Public Library (checks only); at the Zullo Gallery during regular hours (Saturdays and Sundays, Noon to 5 p.m.) and special events; and online via Zullogallery.org. Anyone planning to take advantage of the 10-ticket discount is encouraged to buy those tickets at the library or gallery versus online to avoid the convenience charge.

Founded in 1988, the Zullo Gallery Center for the Arts is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization to support and promote the arts in Medfield. Since its inception, the gallery has presented more than 200 art exhibits, in addition to classes, concerts and other events. Exhibits have featured members of the New England Watercolor Society, Copley Society of Art and The Boston Printmakers, as well as art from student and faculty members within the Medfield school district. The current exhibit on display through June 19 is “Treasurers from the Lost & Found” featuring paintings, sculptures and textiles from regional artists.
